Not sure how many people will see this post as most of your boards seem to be premium.

I am a lifelong Penn State from Pennsylvania. Travel to all PSU games, but would like to experience a game in Tiger Stadium. So, looking for some information on where to stay when visiting. I would like to be in an area close to the stadium, but also close to the nightlife. Since this will be my first trip, I want to experience it all. Therefore, I do not mind spending a little more. My plan is to come for the Arkansas game next November 13 thru the 15th.

Our travel group will be guys in our late 30s to mid 40s. also, looking for advice on restaurants. Places with local flavor. You know places that are must gos on football weekends.

I would suggest you either stay downtown around 3rd street area and experience the nightlife in that area within walking distance. Lot's of nice restaurants and nightlife near 3rd street. The Hilton Baton Rouge Capital Center or the Hotel Indigo are very nice Hotels within walking distance of 3rd street. You could also consider the Renaissance Hotel off of Bluebonnet Blvd and hang out at "Perkins Rowe" just down the street for a nice all in one walking experience. Perkins Rowe is pretty cool as it has restaurants, music and bars all within walking distance in one area. Or, you can stay at the L'auberge Casino not far from LSU off Hwy 30 and take a taxi into downtown Baton Rouge not far away. You should book well in advance if you want a room for an LSU football game. Your other option would be to stay in New Orleans and ride in for game day. Lot's of people like this option as they can party in New Orleans. The only issue is the logistics of getting to and from your hotel.
You might consider partying in New Orleans one night; riding into Baton Rouge for Game day and then staying in Baton Rouge after the game.

Thank you for the information. Prior to my questions, I booked the Hilton Capital Center. So, looks like I made a good choice.
