  • Pleased with everything on Saturday. It was a great "shot in the arm" for this team. Thinks it instilled some confidence in them.
  • Loved the fans and atmosphere at the Smoothie King Center. They traveled well and it was very evident which team was the "home" team.
  • Thinks the team is hitting their stride at the right time. They've had multiple scores of 198+ recently.
  • They train for having two meets in three days for situations, which is what the postseason will be like. Says those off days between meets will be recovery days, and that's how they've treated it throughout the season.
  • Thinks all regionals are tough. Having Kentucky, who's a very capable team and has beat them this season, in their regional is going to be tough, and then having Arkansas who's hosting the regional is another challenge.
  • Says this time of year, less is more from a physical stand point. They want to be efficient in practice so they can keep their team as healthy as he can.
  • It's a blank slate for them now. They don't get to host or choose their rotation for being the top seed, so everything is on an equal playing field now. Thinks they should either go to neutral sites or have the top seed host, but that's been talked about a lot and it hasn't gotten much traction.
  • Thinks it would be at least 2027 before SEC's come back to NOLA. Wants to see New Orleans, Tampa, Orlando, Atlanta or some city like that become a permanent location for the event.
  • Says in many ways, the SEC Championship draws more eyes than the national championship. They draw a bigger crowd than the natty most years and the crowd in NOLA this year was very big.
  • Thinks this team has so much fun which allows them to be so good. When they're having fun, they're loose and comfortable.
Konnor McClain and Kiya Johnson
  • McClain didn't have many personal expectations heading into SEC's. She's excited about winning the beam championship, but she's more concerned with winning as a team.
  • Both are really excited for this post season. Kiya missed last season's run and Konnor wasn't here yet, but they are confident going into this year's postseason and feel they have a good chance to advance.
  • Both say they're so confident when they head to floor. In SEC's they were trailing heading into the last event, but they had so much confidence in themselves as they went to floor and knew they were going to win.
  • Says earning the No. 2 seed just shows all the hard work they put in in the gym.
  • They lost to Kentucky earlier this year, and they play them in this regional, but they know if they stick to what's been working and do their normal gymnastics, they'll be just fine.
  • McClain says Saturday was the most fun she's had at a competition in her entire life. She loves the team aspect and winning big meets as a team.
  • McClain says it's a lot of pressure competing at the college level, but she's competed in a lot of big meets in her life which allows her to be so confident in big moments like on Saturday.
  • Kiya says having the two weeks between SEC's and regionals is big for them. It's a taxing season and they're looking forward to getting some rest.
