Seen a lot of growth. The big thing was developing an identity of the offense, and he thinks they're doing that. That identity is physical inside and explosive on the outside with the receivers.
Says the offensive line has been great. The vets are leading well and thinks DJ Chester has really come along nicely on the vocal side of playing center. That position is the QB of the offensive line, and as a redshirt freshman, sometimes that can be hard for them, but feels he's taken that role on nicely.
Thinks they have an unbelievable offensive staff. Says he and Cortez Hankton have a great relationship and thinks he has a great understanding on game planning and attacking defenses in the passing game.
They wanted a TE coach who understands play calling and how they want to use their TE's, and they think Slade Nagle fits that bill.
Calls Mason Taylor one of their best football players and one of the best TE's in the country. They want to find ways to get him the ball more, as we saw in the bowl game. Says they want to use Ka'Morreun Pimpton and Mac Markway more too.
Thinks CJ Daniels brings a level of consistency to the WR room. He's smart and physical, very strong at the catch point. Thinks they can move him around and use him to his strengths. Says his leadership and work habits have been amazing. He's learning the playbook more and more everyday and they feel he's doing a great job of that.
Want to "create punt returns on offense" with Zaivion Thomas and Aaron Anderson. Want to get them in space with the ball in their hands and blockers out in front.
Says playing center is a hard job to do. You have to get everyone on the same page, then snap the ball well, then block well. It's hard, but he feels DJ Chester has the talent and work ethic to step in and succeed.
Says Nuss has a ton of arm talent, but his emphasis has been figuring out when to take shots and when not to. Calls it a "do your job mentality."
They've had a lot of rushing concepts in their offense with Jayden, but they're emphasizing them a bit more this year with Nuss. They ran a lot of inside zone and zone reads with Jayden, but says they'll be a bit more diverse in game this year.
He's known Kyren Lacy since he was 15 years old. Seeing him grow has been phenomenal. Thinks the level of consistency he's shown since the bowl game has been the most impressive thing to him.
