  • He was impressed with Nicholls. They played their tails off, were physical and controlled the football. Said you could tell how much it meant for them to play in Tiger Stadium.
  • Happy they won, but there are a lot of areas they need to get better. Said his team looked tired after the short week.
  • Says they certainly need to run the ball more effectively. They want a run game that balances their offense, but says they checked out of a lot of rushes because they had extra defenders in the box and gave them man coverage looks.
  • The two things that bothered him defensively were the long drive before the half and the big QB run in wildcat. Besides that, liked what he saw from his D.
  • Hasn't gotten a report on Jacobian Guillory's injury yet.
  • Zavion's presence in the return game gives them better field position than they had last year. Calls him a weapon back there.
  • Says they need to play complimentary football. Last week, when the defense played well, the offense didn't. Going forward, they need to be more consistent on both sides so they can compliment each other.
  • The only guys who jumped out at him on defense tonight before watching film were Whit Weeks and Zy Alexander.
  • Calls Garrett Nussmeier and very efficient thrower of the football, but also liked him rushing the ball today. Says he is nowhere near the issue with the offense.
  • Ju'Juan Johnson had 48 hours to pick up the offense, and thought he did a very good job of doing so. Loves coaching him because he's so willing to learn.
  • They have a lot of faith in Caden Durham and think he's going to be very good for them, but he's a true freshman who needs to improve.
