I wanted to extend an invite to fellow Tigers in the MS Gulf Coast and surrounding areas for the 2016 Jill Thompson Classic hosted by the MS Coast LSU Alumni Chapter with the Jill Thompson Foundation.
The foundation, named for the mother of former LSU pitcher Doug Thompson, raises funds for multiple non-profit charities. The tournament benefits this foundation as well as our local LSU scholarship fund.
The great thing about this tournament is that Doug brings in several former Tiger players to participate.
Foursomes can be joined by a former LSU players which makes for 18 holes of great stories. I had the pleasure of playing with Brad Cresse in the previous tournament and it was a blast (he's not a bad ball striker either). The roster so far this year includes Doug, Blair Barbier, Mike Fontenot, Brandon Larson, Ronnie Rantz, Patrick Coogan with more joining the list everyday. Rumor is Chris Blair, the new voice of the Tigers, may be joining us as well.
The event takes place the afternoon of Friday, August 19 at Beau Rivage's Fallen Oak Golf Couse in Biloxi, MS - 1:30 shotgun start. Go ahead and make a weekend of it - I'm sure the Beau Rivage would love to see you that evening at the craps table.
