Orgeron brought a new, energetic culture to LSU football, as interim head coach. The players appeared to enjoy playing football and "team" football. Their risk tolerance increased. They took chances and did not worry about being yanked with one little error. The players played like they were not afraid to make a mistake. His involving many players promoted fun, laughter and entertainment amongst the players. You could see it on the sidelines. You could tell he understands how a 17, 18, 19, and 20 year old collegiate player thinks. No matter the score, the players played like winners, inspite of the lingering, but fading Miles' culture. Cultures are not easy to change and Orgeron did a great job of improving the culture, surrounding LSU football. Change does invite uncertainty. Herman may be an offensive guru and Fisher may be able to develop QB's. But, hiring either of those two would have brought significant change. The question would have been at what cost and if they were to get us back into the championship hunt, annually, how much time would it have taken. Orgeron taking a reported, relatively, low level of pay to be LSU head coach is a huge team first statement. Aranda is our LSU football MVP. We need to sign him to a solid, long term deal. He should be paid more. He has proven his worth, at LSU. The only thing we need is a solid and consistent, high octane Offensive Coordinator. Coach O coached LSU football with pride and it was obvious that he wants to win not just the hearts of the LSU fans. He wants to win the heart of the state of Louisiana. Many are glad he has that opportunity. I think Coach O can put to rest SEC schools coming into Louisiana and taking players that are used to provide the greatest challenge to LSU football. Football games are won and lost, in the trenches. We have our greatest chance of getting the likes of 5 star lineman recruits like Shelvin, Wilson, and the current LSU committed lineman with Coach O, as the coach. Coach O is a blessing for not just the future of LSU football, but also for the state of Louisiana. Go, Coach O! Go, Tigers!
