Why would a booster want to put up $15M to "pay off" a coach? What is the return? It seems like a bad investment for people who obviously have a lot of business sense. Is LSU Football that important to them?
It seems foolish for one individual or a group to do this.
The other question I have is why is that legal? With all the trouble boosters have gotten universities in with $100 handshakes why can they stroke a check for millions?
Now, I do think it's time for a change and I am certainly good with the process if outside money is what it takes to make it happen. I just can't wrap my head around the how and the why of it.
