Gonna throw an off-topic out there in the middle of the chaos bc my wife is tapping her foot waiting on my Christmas list.

I need a recommendation for a circular saw and a cordless drill. Please bear in mind, I'm no carpenter. In fact I'm just barely handy enough for DIY projects around the house. However after 5 years as a married homeowner, those projects have become frequent enough that I'm tired of borrowing a saw from my dad or my FIL. Been comparing a Dewalt (around $125 on Amazon) and a Skil (around $50 on Amazon). The most I'll probably use it for is straight cuts on 2x4's and plywood.

On the drill front, I have a Black and Decker corded drill but would like a cordless as my primary, with the corded as a backup. Looking at sticking with B&D and also getting a reciprocating saw of the same brand so the batteries are interchangeable. Am I on the right track with this?

And before anyone blasts me for being a grown man who doesn't own his own power tools, I generally save my money instead of spending it. But when I do spend (on me) it's usually on tech or music gear.

Thanks in advance guys, and sorry for the OT in the middle of all this. But I thought a diversion might be welcomed.....and I'm on a time crunch.
