In nearly every thread I am reading this One Year or Lame Duck business. I cannot figure out where that presumption is coming from. Aleva said that he is our coach and is going to continue to be our coach. No one in authority has said anything about him coming back for one more year and retiring as some on here have speculated might be the case.
Right or wrong, like it or not, he is retained to be our coach for the remainder of his contract, at least. He goes on as if none of this hullabaloo had ever happened. At least sure hope our recruits believe that.
Now that having been said, and even if this hullabaloo had never happened he will continue to be judged on the same basis as all HC's are in his profession. And it certainly is not in his favor that we have had two sub-par seasons insofar as our expectations for LSU football.
So IMO what happens to him after the 2016 season, depends upon how his team does during the 2016 season. If the team makes significant improvement, he goes on to the next year, and on until the end of his contract if things continue to go well. That is not what you call a Lame Duck. Nevertheless, if we don't do better, it'll be his last chance almost for certain.
