I've been a member of Tigerbait for a very long time and I don't post much. I read the board every single day though. I read all of your posts. Even the the trolls and guys that like to "stir it up". On some level I find even those threads to be entertaining. But, I digress. This post isn't filled with any particular issue that needs debate or some inside info so it won't go down as the post of the year or anything. I've been watching all of the interviews and videos that Mike and his team have posted since Coach O was hired as our permanent head coach. I just felt compelled to write a post about how the story of Coach O and how everything transpired this year has had a palpable emotional impact on me in a positive way as a life long LSU fan. When you watch his press conferences you can just see and feel his pride in how finally after all of the years in his profession, he achieved his greatest dream and that is to coach the LSU Tigers. I don't know if he will be successful or not. I don't know if Jimbo or Herman would have done a better job either. From a purely personal and emotional point of view, this is the feel good story of the year. He's had a long road to get here filled with some bitter disappointments along the way but he never quit and kept going and kept believing. Some people out there would say it's not about feeling good about this, it's about winning and losing. I get that and eventually Coach O will have to face that demon of big time college football. But, for the moment you just can't help but smile every time you see him at that podium because you can feel the pride he has for what he's accomplished and for LSU and how he will do everything in his power to win championships here. The right way. I, for one, am pulling for him. He's off to a pretty good start as he has arguably the best tandem of coordinators in college football. It's easy to see how Alleva might have been overwhelmed by his passion and love for LSU. It's infectious.
