I know the measure of success for the baseball team is not to only get to Omaha, but to have multiple wins there. I was surprised to learn the following this morning:
1. Stanford just had its worst season since 1946.They went 22-31 and 7-20 in the Pac-12. This is a team that won two NC in the '80's, made the NCAA tournament 9/10 years in the '90s and reached the CWS five years in a row (1999-2003). In the past 11 years, they've only been to Omaha once.
2. USC just qualified for the NCAA tournament - FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TEN YEARS
3. Texas just missed the tournament (again) for the third time in four years.
Hard to stay on top
