As for me, I became an LSU football fan when I was about 5 years old. My dad used to work overseas and my mom used to tape all of the LSU football games for him on cassette tapes and send them to him overseas. Well, that gave me a reason at a young age to have to listen to LSU play on the radio and it didn't take long and I was hooked. Before you knew it I was cutting pictures out of the Sunday morning paper and putting them on my bedroom walls. Bert Jones was the first big time LSU player that I became a fan of as a little kid. After that there was Brad Davis, Mike Miley,Terry Robiskie, Charles Alexander, Bill Elko (huge guns for arms), and my all time favorite was Dalton Hilliard. Those of us who lived through those years probably realize more than some of the younger guys on this board how special an era we are in at the moment; in terms of the glory years of LSU football. Back in those days 9 wins was a very rare and special season. 7 or 8 wins was the norm. The LSU vs #1 USC football game in 1979 was, without question, the most electric I've ever seen Tiger Stadium and it isn't close in my mind. I'm curious how the rest of the board became LSU football fans.
