Quote - “It was a rough night, but the bottom line is that Derek had a reaction to something that caused him to have to go to the hospital and when we got there and they were running tests on him to make sure they were ruling out everything, and before we knew it he was fine. Right before the game they started doing discharge papers to get him out of the hospital. It was scary, but it wasn't as bad as we thought it was when we first got the call. He's good to go. I'm sure they're going to take it easy on him this week, but I'm pretty sure he winds up playing," he said.
“It was awful. It was something I naturally wasn’t ready for. I couldn’t believe I had to rush out and go be by his side because of that. It’s scary. The drive over was scary, just praying and crying and just making sure I get to him in time and that he would be okay. I am just glad everything worked out for the best.”
