IMO, yes, recruits, family members, and friends do read message boards and they can have an impact. To what extent is anyone's guess. Take for instance a quote from DandyDon's blog this morning pertaining to Dylan Moses;
" Where this gets especially interesting is that yesterday Dylan tweeted, “LSU ‘FANS’ are really wishy washy lol.... But keep talking.. And see where all that leads to. Remember LSU isn't the only college in the US..” From what I gather, this is in response to some negative comments about Moses on an LSU message board. This reinforces that prospects are indeed watching what is said about them (wouldn’t you?) and should serve to remind us all to keep it classy and respectful."
I guess what I find amazing is the response of self proclaimed fans (and anyone who spends the amount of time on this board we do is a fan) would do anything to harm the program in anyway.
It is not my intent to debate whether recruits can be affected by negative posts, etc. But why for goodness sake take part in any activity which may sabotage your most ardent desire (winning). Doctor's take an oath, "first, do no harm." Good advice if you ask me.
