at one time there was great interest between star Houston DT Ed Oliver and LSU . He had developed a relationship with coach Orgeron that was genuine. Oliver decided to stay close to home committing to UH where his highschool coach Corby Meekins is the TE coach.
UH HC Tom Herman is a hot commodity in his first year guiding the Cougars to an undefeated sason. His name is popping up at several openings like S Carolina, Maryland and others.
Apparently Oliver prefers to play close to home . Meekins may follow Herman, be let go or retained by the new HC. Either way the door will be open for LSU to move back into the picture for a top DT .
