Teams play a spring game against another power 5 team . Don't shout me down just yet.
Teams are always looking to generate additional revenue. LSU v TCU in Tiger stadium or LSU v Oklahoma St in Stillwater . More $$$ for sure . An arrangement could be made with the ACC or Big -12. Team would play at home one year then travel the next . Always playing a different team.
To make it more significant, the games would count on its record for the upcoming season ...rankings , etc. you want to really make it count ? Play another SEC team.
As a football starved fan might you travel to Norman or Chappel Hill in the Spring . The weather would be spectacular that time of year for fans and players.
Teams could work on the regular Spring player evaluation and development the first two weeks then prepare for the big game the last week.
Would the players enjoy that more than a boring Spring game in front of 10,000 fans.? IMO they would be far more anxious to play a game of the kind
Injuries can occur anytime , even in Spring practice . A minor injury in Spring would have time to heal
