Let's hope USM wins today (or tomorrow) because Tennessee pitching is much better than USM. After that, I hope we pitch Floyd against USM / Tennessee.
Why? Wake Forest Friday / Saturday / Sunday starters (Rhett Lowder, Seth Keener, Josh Hartle) are a combined 38-3 with around a 2.20 ERA. That makes Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker look mortal. and the Wake Forest team ERA (2.84) is .79 better than the #2 ERA in the country (Tennessee, 3.63 ERA). if Skenes pitches against one of those guys, we have at worst a 50/50 chance to win. If we pitch anyone else, we statistically have less than a 10% chance to win (38 wins out of 41 decisions).
We need to play to win. This guy's opinion is firm: Floyd Game 1, Skenes game 2. then hope for the best after that..
