Gents, and here we are. After securing the series by winning the first two games, we are now a win from 13-17 and having a great shot at the NCAA Tournament. That coupled with a #31 RPI and a #21 Strength of Schedule. Additionally, Ole Miss's woes continue in Baton Rouge (excluding 2022).

A few positive things to note at this time:
- After starting 3-12 (22-15), we have gone 9-5 in the SEC and 13-5 overall. Not bad, let's make it 10-5 today.
- Our RPI has climbed all the way to #31 after being in the 50s when we started to get it together 18 games ago.
- Six SEC teams are in (Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, A$M, Georgia, & the Cows). Six teams are fighting for what is likely four more spots for the SEC: LSU (35-20, 12-17, RPI #31), USCe (33-20, 13-16, RPI #23), Vandy (34-20, 12-17, RPI #32), Alabama (32-21, 12-17, RPI #17), Gaytors (27-26, 12-17, RPI #26), & Ole Piss (27-27, 11-18, RPI #28). All are borderline resumes. Note that you have to have a record better than .500 to get in, so if the gaytors or Ole Piss lose today, that bodes well for us. It would drop the gaytors to 27-27 and Ole Piss to 27-28.
- Tommy White has been lights out during our 13-5 streak. .360 BA, 9 HRs, 25 RBIs, 18 Runs, 6 doubles, and his first career triple this weekend. He already has six hits this weekend.
- Luke Holman, Gage Jump, Christian Little, and Griffin Herring have been money during this streak.
- Fidel Ulloa, Nate Ackenhausen, Aiden Moffett, Gavin Guidry, Will Helmers, and Kade Anderson have greatly improved during this 18 game streak (13-5, 9-5).
- We broke A$M, they are 3-3 since we took them down and they have possibly dropped out of the top-8 as a result.
- Beat Ole Piss today and we not only give ourselves a great chance at the NCAA Tournament, but we likely send the rebels home for the year crying once they are knocked out of the SEC Tournament.
- LSU has the third longest Tournament streak now at 11. The two teams above us are also fighting to get in.
17 - Vanderbilt (on the bubble)
15 - Florida (on the bubble)
11 - LSU (on the bubble)
10 - Oklahoma State (locked in)
* Free Shoes had the longest ever streak at 44 (1978-2022) end last year

LSU vs Ole Miss History
- LSU leads Ole Miss, 184-159, in a series that began in 1906
- LSU has captured eight of the past 12 regular-season series with Ole Miss, including a three-game sweep of the Rebels last season (April 21-23) in Oxford
- Ole Miss swept LSU the last time the teams met in Baton Rouge in 2022
- Ole Miss lost 19 consecutive SEC series in Baton Rouge from 1983-2017; however, the Rebels have won their last two series in Alex Box Stadium – a 2-1 series victory in 2019 and the three-game sweep in 2022.
