First, this is NOT meant to disparage DJ Welter, by all accounts a fine young man and someone who gave his all for LSU every chance he got.
But I just went back and watched his HS senior film and compared it to Garnett's, and let me tell you they weren't even close. If DJ could not only earn a full ride here, but also start, ahead of KB of all people, then Garnett absolutely does, too.
Garnett WILL make a significant play for us over the course of his career, many times over. He's a 250 pound beast that will be well equipped to take on the mammoth OL like Bama and Arky feature. He is the exact type of kid that Aranda, the LB Whisperer, took and made into a 1st team all-conference player.
We need this style of LB to contrast all the speedy, long types like Andre Anthony and Thornton who will be critical to stop the spread offenses like OM and Florida feature.
