I am so conflicted with my fondness for Les Miles and the disturbance him being coach has created in the LSU force. Fortunately whenever my yang is at odds with my yin, I have a zen master who gives me direction.

He lives deep in the Atchafalaya basin, you need a three wheeler and a mud boat to reach his cabin. But it's a worthwhile trip, zen master Eraste always has the answer.

"Who will be our coach, Eraste, I must know, I must know now" I demanded.

Eraste turned from the tree frog he had been contemplating and looked at me with peaceful exasperation, staring past my eyes as if he can see my troubled soul.

"When the pupil is ready to learn, a teacher will appear" he said to me. "Worry not about the past, it is past. Worry not about the future, it is yet to come. Live in the present. All you can do is pull for your Tigers to win their contest. The other things will happen. Or they won't. Now go to your game and let me resume my talk with the frog you interrupted."

I never know exactly what Eraste is telling me, I just know I feel better having listened. I am off to the game with thoughts only of winning. Whatever will be after that, will be. Or it won't be. Today there is only the game.
