Hello Tiger Nation:

This is my first post on this board, so I'm using it to introduce myself.

First thing you need to know about me is that I'm obsessed with college football. I may live in the north now, but I'm still college football-crazy, southern style.

I'm from Tampa originally, now living in Boston, MA. I'm a BC grad and season ticket holder. However, I've always been more of a college football fan than a fan of a specific team. I came to this somewhat odd perspective honestly, though.

My dad played for Notre Dame, and we grew up around FSU and UF fans. Being a Domer, my father hated FSU, and so did I. He was oblivious to UF mostly, so I was somewhat friendly to them, though the relatively tame atmosphere in the Swamp always left me annoyed after games. The U was huge then, and as I grew into my teen years they became one of my favorite teams as a way of rebelling against my dad.

I don't miss a college football Saturday. Ever. If I'm not going to a game I'm in the man cave with 3 TV's and multiple computers steaming, from 9am until whenever the last game goes off. generally 2am or so. Anyway, through this much watching, and caring about the game itself more than any specific team, I developed a fandom of sorts for at least one team in each conference. Due to an experience at an LSU home game when I was 14 or so, LSU has been that team for me. That was during the Tommy Hodson era.

Anyway, every year I go full bore on my fandom for one of those teams, and LSU is that team this year. I'll be making my first adult trip to Death Valley this year for the UF game - can't wait to chow down on some gator meat!

So, at any rate looking forward to being a part of Tiger Nation in all it's glory this year.

My first football comment/question for the board is: How are you all feeling about Kevin Steele? I'm damn scared about his joining the staff. Never been a big fan of him, still remember seeing Kevin Greene attack him, and was at the Orange Bowl when the WVU offense attacked his Clemson unit to the tune of 70 pts. PS: Hey Kevin, WVU just scored - AGAIN!

I know there likely relatively slim pickins, but I just don't see what the Hat was thinking when he brought this retread on. He's never been particularly successful at any stop along the way and has never been valued very highly by any staff he's been on so far as I can tell. LSU will always have the athletes to run a top-notch defense, but I have very little confidence in Steele keeping them all on the same page.

As the season progresses I'll have questions for the board about gameday in Baton Rouge do's and don'ts, tailgating, etc.

In return, if anyone is making the trip to 'Cuse this year, I've been there a ton so can help out with that.

Geaux Tigers!
