There is a bill in the CA legislature that will call for the players to receive 1/2 the revenue from ticket sales. This will not have that much effect in CA because most of the facilities are furnished by the state Except for maybe Stanford and USC. Even USC plays in the Coliseum.
If this happens in LA it would be bad and call for a new way to finance facilities and pay operations for LSU Team plus finance the other sports.
It is estimated that this will be get each player $200,000 over 4 years. Each player will be paid $25,000 per year the other $25,000 will be placed in a fund to be paid to the player on graduation. He is allowed 6 years to get his degree. If he doesn’t get the degree by then he forfeits the money.
IMO this is an effort by the liberals in CA to do away with college football being big time. If they can negotiate this then the other conferences might have to follow suit as they would have the best shot at getting good players.
Since you will be paying I wonder if you coukd fire a player?
