Many of us are frustrated. I am sure Mike S and his group are also. Let me say this. We are not a bad program. But I predict and have always predicted this year would be not much better than last. We have personnel issues at spots that we knew about (DL, LB, etc). And for whatever reason a few spots we thought were ok went bad bad.......special teams. I still like our OL. I like our OL coach. But guys don't be surprised if we drop one or two more games.
But help is coming. Coach O and Coach Steele IMHO came into our program with an average at best talent level on defense. And I know for a fact they know it. They know the only way to solve it is to recruit better players on the DL and at LB and recruit a lot of them. But you can't fix that over night especially those positions. Our lack of really good LB are hurting our special teams.
So we need to be patient. Next year we will be a tad better. And I predict the years after that we close the gap on talent. But simply put Alabama has far more talent from top to bottom. And if they played us 10 times they would probably win 8 of them. But if they don't shoot them selves in the foot like they did against Ole Miss we can't hang with them now.
