He's a great Tiger fan who bets on LSU every week no matter what the spread is. He's the type of LSU fan that will fight anyone that bad mouths the Tigers even if he's thirty years their senior. He's has tremendous lungs that the opponent players can hear him from their bench. He's the cheerleader of our section. Of course he likes to have a couple of pops of alcohol before the game, during the game, and after. He goes on the road as often as possible to support his Bayou Bengals. After he brushes his teeth in the morning he goes straight to the sports section, and straight to 24/7 to read about his Fightin' Tigers. If you watch a game at his house you must not criticize the Tigers or risk be told to leave. Especially don't criticize coach Miles. He absolutely hates any Louisiana high school player that LSU is recruiting, that signs with another SEC teams. If that player blows out a knee, he's all smiles. He loves all LSU athletics. You get the picture? I'm sure many of you have friends like this. Die hard Purple and Gold fans.
Anyway, if I were to call him now as I do each season, and ask, "What about the Tigers?" . His answer with a straight face. "We're going to the ship" I always think he is kidding, pulling my leg, and then he will give me his reasons. It's F-------G great to have a friend like this. A total optimist . Since 2001 every year our Bayou Bengals talent wise are players for the National Championship. It's hard to win a Championship, but you have to be a knowledgeable fan to appreciate how close we have come of being in that game the past fifteen years. It's been a great run, and better yet, the Bengals are strong today, and the future looks bright.
I've been wrong about several players in the past. The five star defensive tackle that finished at Tulane is a recent example. I hope I am not wrong about Brandon Harris. I believe this young man will electrify Tiger Stadium, and bring us to the promise land. My God the talent of this team is off the charts. I honestly believe our top fifty players are better than the cheats from Bama. If Harris plays to his tremendous ability I believe we can win it all. I just hope the coaches allow him to play through his mistakes. I'm looking forward to several great seasons ahead. We must not lose our states best players to Bama.
