what has put us in this position after such a great season last year and if anything could prevent future occurrences.
The five most obvious issues we have:
- record number of NFL drafts and COVID opt outs
- first year QB( In experience) and his injury after playing good enough to win most of his games. I feel tat Brennan has played pretty well and we would be ok with a good D.
- loss of Brady( has hurt red zone O)
- new DC along with switch to 4-3 without necessary personnel .
- poor OL performance
The NFL draft and COVID issues won’t occur to this level again in near future but it does place an emphasis on roster management( identifying who may go early and having depth to not be decimated. Ala , Clemson and Oh St seem to handle the roster well.
Hopefully the QB and OL issues will improve with more experience. Offense may need Coach E to retire soon to improve.
