from 2006 - 2013 .... I didn't go past 2013 since the jury is still out on 2014 and 2015 recruits
Hits and misses....I was liberal on my " hits". Any recruit that contributed even a little was classified as a hit.
Out of state recruits : 49 hits out of 94 (52% )
In state recruits : 64 hits out of 103 ( 62% )
Overall : 113 hits out of 197 ( 57% )
OOS signees : (47%) In state signees : (53%)
Casual observation from this data:
Just over half of signees are in state...53% . LSU must venture OOS to fill its roster. The state , while
producing great players doesn't produce enough SEC type talent
The in state signees have a somewhat higher hit rate ...62% v 52% . This make sense because LSU gets
the cream of Louisiana players. Going OOS against the traditional power houses is tough . We have to
take those left over sometimes
43% of all signees will NEVER contribute . When we look at every new class they all seem like a lock to
be future studs . But the reality is that just under half won't be .
