LSU BASKETBALL Javonte Smart returning for junior season

LSU point guard Javonte Smart will withdraw from the NBA Draft and return to LSU for his junior season, according to his most recent tweet.



Smart, a Baton Rouge native who prepped at Scotlandville, has logged playing time in 65 career games and started 48 over the last two years.

The 6-4, 205-pounder averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game in his sophomore season. In 2018-19, he averaged 11.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

Earlier on Monday, we learned that Darius Days would also be returning to LSU.

Men’s basketball student-athletes have until Monday, Aug. 3 to withdraw from the 2020 NBA Draft and retain their eligibility.
