I got on too late to bring this up in the chat, but for some reason this really stuck out to me. Don't get me wrong...I'm pretty worried about our LT position this year, but as up in the air as those 2 tackle spots are this year...I think it could be one of our strongest position groups come next year. Malone, Tuehuma and Weathersby will play a whole lot of snaps this season and all 3 of them can play tackle. Throw in Chidi, who I wouldn't be crazy about him playing much this year, but next year being his 3rd year in the system and with his natural ability, that's a pretty good 4th tackle. I could see maybe having that JC OT available for that 2018 season, but I have huge expectations for Deculus in his 2nd year here being that 3rd OT that year.
Now, if we are going to sign 1 JC player this year or next...it has to be a veteran MLB. I mean we now need 4 of them to have a 2 deep and I just don't see it after this year. The 2 DE's we moved to LB(Key and Washington) are obviously OLB's. No other LB's signed that year. Then Divinity, Thornton, Sci, and Anthony (when he arrives) are all pretty much OLB's. Also, in my opinion Queen, Moses and Chris Allen are all natural OLB's as well. Maybe there are going to be a couple who shift inside but from my standpoint in 2017 and 2018 we're going to have about 10 really quality OLB's and pretty much 1 kid who signed here to be a running back manning the middle spots(who we've never seen make a single tackle yet in a game). I think a top JC linebacker who wanted to be part of one of the top 3 defenses in all of CFB could step right into one of those 2 middle spots next season.
