Had Lsu defeated Alabama (a few bad calls and missed opportunities away)
and defeated Fla(an accidental UF win where Lsu missed 5 opportunities inside the Florida 10 yard line) and then won the sec championship (Lsu a double digit favorite) then Lsu would have wound up in the sugar bowl with a bunch of seething fans.If Osu could get in over a champ in their own conference that beat them,they would have found a way to keep Lsu out so that at least 4 conferences would be represented.And that is why the current system does not work-and that you need 5 champs plus 3 other deserving teams.
In this year alone conference championships were meaningless for Wisconsin, Penn State,Florida,Colorado,and Va Tech.
