After 43 years building LSU gymnastics into the powerhouse program that it is, D-D Breaux announced her retirement on Tuesday morning.
Co-head coach Jay Clark will take over for Breaux, who will still be involved with the Tigers as an ambassador of LSU athletics.
"I've always told myself that I would know when it would be time to make this most difficult decision," Breaux said reading her retirement letter. She cited the passing of her mother in December, wanting to spend more time with her kids and grandkids and COVID-19 as a few reasons she felt now was the right time for her to step away from coaching.
Under Breaux, LSU has captured 17 NCAA Championships appearances in the last 18 seasons, seven NCAA Championship Finals since 2008 and 14 individual national titles since 2002.
