Julie and I dropped our class projections yesterday, with Julie posting her nuggets and notes on the matter. Now it's my turn.

I put Auburn running back commit Armoni Goodwin on the list, and although he's the only prospect on the list that pledged to another school, I may be as confident in his projection as any of the ones on my list. Multiple sources indicate that a flip is likely in the works, with the formal announcement likely to come out after he visits.

Goodwin has been a primary target for Kevin Faulk, LSU's new running backs coach, and Goodwin is fascinated with the idea of playing in LSU's dynamic offense.

Both Chris Hilton and Brian Thomas found their way on both of our lists. I shared my feelings on Brian Thomas leaning LSU recently, and this is just another example of where our confidence level is that the young man will end up a Tiger. Alabama won't be easy to beat here, but the Tigers are in a strong position.

Hilton is definitely leaning towards staying home, with an announcement likely to come sooner than later. I put Malik Nabers on the list and I think it will pay off in the end. LSU really likes Nabers and sources are adamant that an offer should be extended in the near future. LSU has been recruiting Nabers like he already had an overture, which is a sign that they are positioning themselves for a pledge prior to extending an offer, likely to avoid a situation where they miss on an in-state kid.

One name that we have rarely discussed, but should pay more attention to is is massive North Carolina offensive lineman Diego Pounds. It feels like Pounds is basically a silent commitment, with the need for him to visit campus before something is finalized. Expect Pounds to visit shortly after things open up, with a pledge liking coming around that time. He is a bit of project, but LSU sees a ton of upside.

LSU wants 4-5 offensive linemen in the class. They are hoping to sign at least two prospects capable of playing tackle, a center and at least one guard. It has been difficult to figure out what center will be the most likely candidate, hence the TBD tag in my projection.

Maason Smith appears to be a strong LSU lean at this point. His addition to the list was one of the easier adds at this stage of the recruiting cycle.

It sounds like LSU is really close to offering Catholic-Pointe Coupee safety prospect Matthew Langlois. I was told that Langlois should get his offer no later than after the first couple weeks of the season. I went ahead and put a FutureCast in for Langlois.
