  • Jokes that she coaches a very shy team and has to get them going. In a more serious tone, she says they're so much fun and she's blessed to coach a team like this.
  • She's so happy for LSU. Says a lot of people take a Sweet 16 appearance for granted, but a lot of teams and coaches don't accomplish that in their career.
  • MTSU hadn't lost a game since December and thinks they're a very tough team with a HOF coach. Gives a lot of credit to them for their first half performance.
  • Thought their aggressiveness wore them down in the second half, so even when they got open shots, they were missing them.
  • Liked the assist to turnover ratio tonight. They had 17 assists to 7 turnovers.
  • Loved what she saw from HVL despite scoring just four points. Her defensive energy in the second half was the catalyst for them.
  • Thought they played more cohesive on defense. When Wheeler came off screens, the post players helped Poa and HVL.
  • Says it was a bit of a shock that they were out rebounded in the fist half.
Flau'jae Johnson and Angel Reese
  • Johnson said HVL came out at halftime and played really good defense against Savannah Wheeler. Says it allowed them to jump the passing lanes and get some steals.
  • Reese says Flau'jae's energy comes from the defensive end. Says having Flau'jae be such a leader as a sophomore is huge for the team.
  • Knew MTSU was going to play hard for 40 minutes after erasing a 18 point deficit on Friday. They're a tough team, but they came out with a lot of energy in the second half and they felt the momentum shift.
  • Says offense hasn't been much of an issue, so they knew they just needed to step up on defense. Calls Savannah Wheeler one of the toughest guards they played all year, but they were able to limit her impact in the second half which helped them flip the switch defensively.
  • Johnson says she's learned so much since arriving to college. She never missed a day with Coach Starky watching film and she says something finally clicked this year which has allowed her to take the next step.
  • Reese says she loves getting assists and wants to lead the team every game in assists. She threw one to Mikaylah and she hit a step back three but she joked that she didn't think she got an assist for that.
  • Calls Aneesah Morrow a matchup nightmare. She can rebound, pass, shoot, defend and says she would hate playing against her.
  • Says they are able to get on each other when they make mistakes and nobody takes it personal.
  • Reese said she couldn't hear at points in this game because the crowd was so loud.
