- Liked seeing Mac get on base three times in the lead off spot.
- Thought it was a big day for the pitching staff today. Thinks Aiden did a great job getting out of a jam in the ninth.
- Hellmers has retired 12 batters through his last two outings.
- Says Mac is tough and is a hard worker. He’s not going to get phased by a bad stretch, and he’s bounced back these last two games.
- Doesn’t think there’s much of a drop off in the pitching staff. From 1-12 they can all throw strikes at a high level.
- Would’ve liked to see his offense finish the game out in the eighth, but also wanted to see Aiden go back out there, so it was a weird spot.
- Very optimistic of the young position players like Nippolt, Larson, etc.
- says it’s good to be “struggling” and hitting over .300 as a team. They’re trying to replace Crews who he says was worth 4 runs per game.
- Thinks the offense needs some time, but when they’re on, they’re really good. They’ve been their best when they need to step up.
- Excited to get to Starkville. Dakota Jordan has been on fire for them and thinks they have some other really good bats.
- Says it’s awesome to get a shutout win w 6 different pitchers. Big for the staff as a whole.
- Trying to go out there w confidence and land his fastball and slider.
- Says his game has definitely improved a lot. He’s had four pitching coaches in four years and joked that “he knows everything about pitching”
- Says moving to the side of the rubber makes it different for hitters. Says it was a hard adjustment, but he got used to it.
- Yeskie emphasizes catch play. Throwing catch like you’re throwing pitches w different grips and everything has helped them a lot.
- Has a good time getting the guys pumped up before the game. He’s the hype guy in the dugout before each game and says he can’t say what he says to the team on TV.
- Calls this the most talented staff he’s been a part of.
- He’s led off before and he’s comfortable w it, but he can hit wherever.
- Was looking for something up in the zone, and saw a fastball up and took it hard.
- Excited to get to SEC play. New opportunity for him and wants to see what it’s all about.
- As a team, they want to control the zone as hitters to help them drive the ball more.
- Says Hellmers is one of the more selfless players on the team. Says he’s funky to face because he stands at a weird spot on the mound.
