The Tigers Men's Basketball team will tip off their second game of the season against Nicholls State on Thursday night at 7pm CT. LSU is coming off a 106-60 victory over Mississippi Valley State and are looking to start the season 2-0 before heading to Charleston for the Charleston Classic next Thursday.
Nicholls State is coming off a 91-81 loss to Tulane on Monday. In that game, Jamal West Jr. was their leading scorer, dropping 24 points on 9-12 shooting. Mekhi Collins dropped a double-double in the season opener, recording 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Things to know for the upcoming game:
- The Colonels hauled in 15 offensive rebounds in their season opener. The Tigers struggled in their exhibition and season opener to stop the opposing team from grabbing offensive boards, and McMahon said that's something the team worked on this week.
- Will Baker is coming off a 29 point game and he'll have a tall task ahead of him going against Mekhi Collins. We'll see if the 7'0 center can continue to dominate tonight.
- LSU is a 20.5 point favorite entering this game. The spread seems a little large, but if the Tigers can win by 20+, I think it'll be a good sign for them moving forward.
- Nicholls shot just 45% from the free throw line in their opener. If that continues, the Tigers should have a huge advantage after shooting 71% from the charity stripe Monday night.
- LSU's opening night shooting % of 57.6% ranks 18th in the nation. It's hard to shoot that well consistently, but this is a team that shot nearly 75% in their exhibition. We'll see if the offense can keep rolling.
