- Said it’s cool to break the singles record and tie the hits record.
- They made some adjustments from yesterday. Felt their struggles were due to the weather.
- Said it was great to get so many backups three at bats in this game
- They made the decision to move Milam to lead off and he played really well today. He’s improved at the plate a ton in the off-season.
- Thinks Brady Neal is one of their best players. The injury last year took him out for a while, but he’s back now and had a big day. They’re not worried about pacing him at all.
- It was important to them that Javen Coleman came back this year. He’s been solid in the spring. There’s things they want to clean up, but liked what they saw from him.
- Thinks Aidan Moffett has potential to grow his role throughout the season.
- Cam Johnson is going to be a good pitcher here. He thinks he was a little nervous because he never pitched in front of a crowd that big, but thinks he’ll settle in.
- Says Mac Bingham was one of the best players in the off-season. Feels like he should be in pro baseball, but is very glad he’s here.
- Thinks Milam can be a regular in the starting lineup. Calls him one of the 5 best players of spring ball.
- Called Javen a starting pitcher. Thinks he can work his way into the weekend or weekday.
- Not surprised that Jake Brown has settled in so well so early.
- Calls Will Hellmers one of his favorite guys on the team. Thinks he’s a great leader and has been a guy they can always rely on.
- Thinks his catchers have dominated this weekend. Says it’s as good a collective effort from that position that he’s ever seen.
- Feels really good right now. He’s been working hard coming back from the injury and it’s paying off.
- Thinks the hitting was contagious today.
- Took a foul ball to the hand, but he’s alright. He’s good to go.
- Calls Milam a great player. He’s played with or against him since he was 12 and calls him a special player.
- Says Cam Johnson is special. Says what he’s seen him do in intrasquads is crazy, he just needs to get his confidence.
- Says Coleman’s fastball is unbelievable. He threw all fastball in the first inning.
- Said his fastball was working today. Wasn’t as accurate as he wanted it to be though.
- Wanted to take some time getting back from Tommy John, so he missed the fall.
- He’s always been a fastball dominant guy and coach Yeskie loves to pound the zone so they’ve been a good combo.
- Feels being a starter works best for him because he can take his time to prepare before the game. It gives him time to mellow out. He learned that over the fall.
- Says it wasn’t necessarily a hard decision to come back. Wanted to bet on himself.
- He’s face Milam a few times in spring and says he’s one of the toughest outs. His size makes him hard to throw strikes against.
- Says he loves his defense. Tries to throw strikes, and if they hit it, he’s confident his guys can make a play defensively.
- Wants to work on his change up. Likes his slider and says we’ll see his curveball soon.
- Didn’t like the amount of walks he allowed today, but will work on that and try to limit them next time out.
