Kelly said it's a two-man race between Daniels and Nussmeier and it's competitive. He wants to name starter soon but expects both to play at some point this season. The plan is to have Walker Howard redshirt and he would only be used in an emergency situation.
The picture is a little clearer on the John Emery situation and why he's been running with the 2s and 3s over the last few practices. Emery has worked extremely hard to get back on track academically and has done everything that Kelly & the staff have asked him to do, but there's still some things that have to be worked out dating back to him missing last season. At this point, it's unclear if he'll miss games, how many he could miss, etc. That's why we've seen Noah Cain, Armoni Goodwin and Josh Williams getting most of the reps. Kelly said in his presser who couldn't talk about the situation.
