Max Browne is transferring from USC to.............Pitt? The same Pitt where Matt Canada just left to be the new OC at LSU? Is there some kind of tie the young man from Washington state has at Pitt that I'm unaware of?
If he liked the offense at Pitt, that offense is going to be run at LSU by Matt Canada. It's true that Pitt's starting quarterback is a graduating senior, so there isn't going to be a problem beating out an incumbent QB. But c'mon, if he has fears of beating out Danny Etling I guess he really wouldn't have the "chest" to complete in the SEC.
Is there something I'm missing here? LSU is in desperate need of a transfer QB to come in and not only compete with Etling, but hopefully beat him out of the starters job. LSU needs someone with a strong arm that can read defenses and has just enough mobility to run for the first down when all the receivers are covered and the defense leaves a gap. Etling has done a remarkable job getting the most out of his ability, but Etling is NOT the answer to winning more than 8 games much less the SEC.
