The QB position ,due to rules changes , has evolved to the point that without top performance winning championships is really difficult .

ESPN Has recently rated the QB position for all 14 SEC teams . I'll only list the SEC W teams and LSU SEC E opponents on the schedule .

1. Alabama . The return of the SEC offensive player of the year , Jalen Hurts , gives them the edge

2. Auburn . Gus Malzahn will have his dream QB in 2017 in Jarrett Stidhimm .

3. Arkansas . Austin Allen was solid in replacing big brother . Expect a good Sr year

4. Ole Miss . Everyone is expecting Shae Patterson to explode in 2017

6. Miss St . Nick Fitzgerald is being touted as DAK II . Great runner , OK passer

9. Tenn. With Josh Dobbs gone it's a race among talented trio of youngsters

11. A&M . Sr Hubernak plus 2 youngsters battle for the job

13.LSU . Little needs to be told about QB to Tigerbaiters

14 . Fla. How they keep winning without QB play is a credit to their defense .

My own comments :
...Hurts needs to learn to throw a forward pass if he's going to be No.1
.....Stidhimm had better be the right fit on Gus' offense
.....Patterson flashed as a true Fr then not so much . Should be great in 2017
....Fitzgerald is too low . If he can improve his passing he'll be No.1 in the SEC .
.....How can they rate the Tenn and A&M QB situation ahead of LSU when both are breaking in
new QBs ?
