I do not post often -- but like to read the Board several times a day. My thoughts on the QB recruiting situation is as follows:
1. Coach O may feel that he has LK coming to the Tigers. Therefore he thought (maybe with encouragement from LK) that Tua could be enticed to flip to the Tigers. Therefore he made tha scholarship offer to Tua with the subsequent re-opening of his recruitment by Brennan. Could have been a mistake by Coach O -- but not fatal. Since Tua has re-confirmed his committment to Alabama, that should make our future plans clear up.
2. I am guessing that LSU is making inquiries to the SEC office about the ability to sign Andre Johnson based on what happened at FSU. My hope is that they get the go-ahead and Andre is part of the 2017 class. Then he and DE can battle for the starting position for 2017.
3. They should then be able to convince Brennan that they made a mistake in the offer to Tua and hopefully Brennan will see his love of the Tigers be able to be fulfilled.
4. Worst case for Brennan is that he redshirts for 2017. He would then compete with Andre Johnson the next year and would be in line for either two or three more years as our starting QB
This is what I hope we can see as our QB situation during the upcoming years.
