Just had a couple more conversations and I think I'm about done for the night, barring any breaking news finalizing a deal, but here's a quick update on the latest I've put together. I've had a lot of conversations today about the LSU DC vacancy and in every single one of the conversations, Blake Baker's name continues to be mentioned over and over and a lot more than some of the other potential candidates. I've talked to multiple contacts in the LSU circles and there's a lot of confidence growing that a deal seems imminent, and that Baker is at the top of Brian Kelly's short list.

All of this makes a ton of sense with what we've heard and told you dating back to November in regard to Kelly's communication with Baker during the season.

I received a few more details on Baker's contact extension with Missouri. His new deal would take him through February of 2027. Still don't have an exact number on his buyout but would expect that number to be near the $1.5M mark.

The interesting thing with this is that there is some confidence from both sides being LSU/Missouri. On the LSU side of things, the consensus seems to be that a deal is imminent and it's close to being done. On the Missouri side of things, there is still confidence that they can retain him, and they don't believe a deal is close to being done.

For now, it seems Baker is the guy, but I'm not sure all the hurdles are clear just yet. We'll obviously continue to monitor the situation and update you as we have more. But everything I'm hearing today makes more and more sense, knowing what we heard dating back to November in our initial staffing update posted here in The Quad.
