Most of the QB battles are getting settled . The only SEC QBs that LSU fans care about are the ones opposing LSU . Here's my rankings
1. Chad Kelly ..Ole Miss. Easily the best of a generally weak group . But Kelly is one of the nation's best
2. Trevor Knight...A&M . He has won the job this spring . He's ranked this high because he's a Senior .
He was the Sooner starter before being beat out by a really good Baker Mayfield . He's light years.
behind Kelly
3. Drew Lock ...Missouri. The only returning starter besides Kelly on this list. He was decent in 2015
and should really improve in his Soph year. But has a weak supporting cast.
4. White, Johnson , Franklin . Auburn. Malzahn has 3 to choose from . Neither pulled away from the pact
this spring . Franklin is the wild card ...if he's the next Nick Marshall the Tigers will be strong in 2016,
White and Johnson have played a lot and will be OK if called upon.
5.Cooper Bateman . Alabama . 5* talent . We've learned to never underestimate Saban/ Kiffen's knack for
developing a serviceable QB. Bateman is a talent who could be more than just serviceable.
6. Luke del Rio. Florida . Couldn't crack the mighty Oregon State lineup. Now he's expected to lead the
Gators in the SEC. I'm not buying .
7. Austin Allen .Ark. Being the little brother of the 2015 QB doesn't earn any points . Will he be a carbon
copy of his brother ? Let's see it on the field first . As good as his brother was he took 2 years to
Become really good . Austin will to.
8. Nick Fitzgerald ...Miss St. How do you replace a legand ? You don't . He's a big guy who moves well
and has a big arm. His receivers will be good enough. 1st year SEC QBs struggle . Ask LSU.
Now where would our own Brandon Harris fall on this list ? No.2
When LSU takes the field in 2016 they should have a QB advantage vs every opponent except one.
That would be a change compared to 2014-2015
