I did not research any of this, so I could be off some.
Crouton came onboard in 2007. Flynn was a senior with limited game action - playing behind Russell (under Fisher). And to be honest, Flynn hadn't exactly shone out in his limited opportunities. But under Crowton, Flynn became a really good player.
Kragthorpe came onboard in 2011. Lee was a senior, and frankly had seen many mire bad days than good ones at LSU. I would go so far as saying he was "damaged goods" emotionally. But suddenly in 2011, he played much, much better than I could have realized. Not a stud or anything, but under a new QB coach, he blossomed.
Cameron came onboard in 2013. And a similar rejuvenation happened for Mettenberger (who was also a senior).
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Granted, three QBs is too small if s sample size to draw conclusions, but it certainly improves my outlook for Harris or Etling -- whichever one earns the starting position under Canada.
