Most have heard how much Saban has invested in learning how psychology can help his players and teams perform better. I saw a fascinating interview with him on the SEC network coaches corner the other night. The reporter asked him if he was going on an 8 hour car ride which SEC coach would he want to come with him. He started out by saying he would be comfortable with Mus, McEl, and Kirby b/c he coached with them so long but then said but putting them aside because "I know you wanted to create suspense with your question." (what other sec coach correctly analyzes a reporters question like that?) Saban goes on to say he would choose Hugh Freeze b/c he finds him fascinating and he lost to him 2 years in a row. I just found this interview to be very interesting and sort of underscored why Saban is so damn good. It was impressive. I sure wish he'd give the NFL another shot.
