Ok I've said it. I've done the research, and think Holtz as an OC at LSU would be a definite upgrade.
He has the experience, and LA Tech's Offense has been spectacular this year.
Before saying anything, you need to look at LA Tech's stats for the past 3 years. They run and pass, ranking 4th in passing offense, and 75th in rushing offense. They are #1 in the NCAA in yds per play at 7.68.
Holtz track record as OC has been outstanding at some schools, but average at others. As HC, he was great at East Carolina and the same for LA Tech, but not at South Florida.
Make no mistake though, he knows offense. He is a QB coach, and OC by heart, and it shows at LA Tech. Tech's only losses this year were:
20-21 at Arkansas,
59-45 at Texas Tech
39-24 at Southern Miss
Questionable whether he would make the move from HC to OC, but money talks. Holtz only makes $500,000 per year.
Just a thought, verses Kiffin
