Here is how I see the strength of the SEC in Football talent due to the ability to attract/recruit talent. See below:
1. Bama- They are just bringing in the best talent from top to bottom and it shows. They are far ahead of the field.
2. LSU- gets the nod over others by a tad but much like the rest of the conference they are struggling getting top talent throughout there entire Roster from top to bottom...which Has resulted holes in the armor. They just seem not to ever be able to get all the pieces of puzzle in place at one time to overtake Bama.
3. Ole Miss somehow is managing to attract a handful of elite players especially in the trenches and at the QB position. Then like LSU they struggle filling out the rest of the roster with enough elite talent to win the west and struggle with quality depth.
4. Auburn- the last couple years they seemed to have lost a little luster on the recruiting trail. I could not imagine being in the same state as the University of Alabama and being successful. Could you imagine if LSU had such a scenario? Again there talent level is not throughout the roster and they have holes that prevent them from competing for the SEC West.
5. Then you have the Aggies. A couple years ago with Johnny Football they became the darlings of the league. Kids from all over the south had them on there list. But once the heroics of Johnny F. left the Aggies the offense smuggled and not enough elite talent throughout the roster. And as we sit today the Aggies are no longer the darlings and not attracting near the interest from the quality players.
5b- The Razorbacks have always struggled recruiting a strong roster and depth. That remains. Coach Bieliema is getting much out of his talent which is a credit to him.
6. Miss State- They are really struggling loosing the good players that are an arm reach from their university. I don't see them as a factor and challenging times for Mullen coming.
7. And the rest of them.

Conclusion: Everyone will chase Bama for two reasons. They have the best talent and the best coaching. While LSU is second on talent for whatever reason they are underachieving. Ole Miss is getting more out of less than LSU. So is Arkansas.
