We all know about his ability to take little known , underrated QBs and have them lead the nation passing
It appears to be a 2 way battle between incumbent Garrett Shrader and Stanford transfer K. J .Costello
Shrader led the team passing for just 1,370 yards . He was 2nd on the team rushing for 567 yds
He was forced into playing as a true Fr and acquitted himself well finishing 9th in the SEC
Under Leach look for those numbers to take a quantum leap if he can hold off the better known .
K. J. Costello . Leach knows him well and apparently wanted him in Starkville . He’s already graduated from Stanford and has logged tons of PT and impressive stats when he wasn’t battling an assortment of injuries . In 2018 he threw for 3,570 yards for the Cardinal .my money is on KJ winning the battle
with no Spring to install his Air Raid Offense it could be a work in progress by the time Sept 26 comes around
