I was looking at the different ranking by the various evaluators. Rivals has LSU around 8. The TOS “composite” team rankings has LSU at #3. TOS composite team rankings are based on using the ratings of about 4 rating services including Rivals. After looking at the individual rating they give the recruits I would have to say that for the composite to have LSU at 3 the Rivals rating would have to have some recruits rated much lower than the other 3 rating services. Of course the coaches are the true evaluators on how much a recruit means to a ream.
