Just wanted to drop a few things here this morning in case I get busy like the last two days...

-- Let's start with five-star tackle Kelvin Banks, who recently decommitted from Oregon with Mario Cristobal heading to Miami. I talked to him yesterday afternoon after a report came out of Brad Davis visiting him Wednesday morning at his school. Banks told me that didn't happen. Davis was supposed to go by but got caught up with something and he didn't make it. I have no idea what that something is before y'all ask lol. Banks said his phone has been burning up over the last few days with schools, coaches and media, which is to be expected when you decommit this close to signing day, but he made sure to let me know "LSU is in the mix!" Now, before y’all get too excited by that statement, I still think it's a very small chance he lands at LSU but Davis & Kelly are going after him. I would say Texas, Miami (bc of Cristobal) and Texas A&M would probably be the favorites but I'll stay in touch with him and see how things play out.

-- The hiring of Frank Wilson was huge when it happened, but with Corey Raymond taking the Florida job, Wilson just became that much more important for recruiting in the state of Louisiana. He has the ear of many coaches, players and parents and the hire sounds to have made a big impression on WR Shazz Preston, who I would say was leaning Alabama or Georgia going into next week, and S Jacoby Mathews, who won't announce or sign until February and is currently focused on Ponchatoula's title game Saturday night in the Dome.

-- LSU coaches, including Kelly, and staffers behind the scenes are still evaluating and sending out new offers like we saw with DB Jordan Allen yesterday, FIU transfer OL Miles Frazier, who is one of the hottest names in the portal right now, and Missouri DE DJ Wesolak. I still think there's a possibility we see a few more go out late in the process, even if it means getting some guys to push signing until February. I can't help but think Jordan Allen and Landon Ibeita were two guys I thought would have or should have offers by now so perhaps we'll see movement on Ibieta without any WRs in the class committed and they probably need at least three whether it's high schoolers or transfers in the portal, but that's just my personal opinion and not based on any conversations with sources or anything.

-- Lastly, do not be surprised to see more decommitments or perhaps even more guys enter the portal. But just looking at the current commitments, I'll be watching a few like Laterrance Welch, Jadarian Rhym, who Auburn is really after, closely today and the next few days especially with the departure of Corey Raymond, along with Tygee Hill, who's taking an official to Tulane this weekend not LSU, and Demario Tolan, if Blake Baker isn't retained.

-- Players I've confirmed for official visits thus far: Walker Howard, Emery Jones, Will Campbell, Laterrance Welch (we'll see if that changes), Austin Ausberry, Jordan Allen, Nathan Dibert, Mason Taylor, Quency Wiggins, DJ Wesolak, DeMario Tolan and Bo Bordelon.
