Let's get straight to it:
Raesjon Davis: The California LB has been committed to LSU for quite some time and he’s done a great job recruiting others FOR LSU, so he was a name I didn’t expect to surface as a possible flip, but here we are.
USC is pushing hard for Davis to stay home and he’s listening. He told Rivals he’s a “little open-minded” and he will wait until Signing Day in February to sign to see how things play out.
I’m still a little hesitate to fully believe he will flip because he’s been all LSU for so long now and you best believe the Tigers staff will dig in to try to keep him. As far as the feeling from the West Coast, many believe he will end up at USC. His Mater Dei teammate Kyron Ware-Hudson just flipped from Oregon to USC and the Trojans are working on keeping Korey Foreman home as well.
Korey Foreman: As I just mentioned, USC is working overtime on the No. 1 DE in the nation. Foreman has been all over the place ever since decommitting from Clemson earlier this year. Georgia led at one point, then it was LSU and now it seems the Bayou Bengals may have faded somewhat. Foreman was supposed to return to Baton Rouge for his third trip this weekend to watch the Tigers host Alabama, but early Thursday morning I got word that it’s likely not happening. Kevin Foreman, Korey’s father, told me he has work this weekend. Of course things could change and I do have additional feelers out, but take that for what it is.
Brian Thomas Jr.: One of the best wide receivers in the country resides right in LSU’s backyard, but the Walker wideout seems destined to end up out of state. One source told me this week that it’s a Texas A&M and Alabama battle for Thomas and basically came out and said he won’t end up a Tiger. I have a FutureCast in on Thomas to LSU but I'll be changing it soon.
Thomas' dad recently told me his son is likely to wait and sign in February.
I personally don’t feel like this is as big of a miss as some other recruits just because of the strong WR class LSU has committed in Chris Hilton, JoJo Earle, Deion Smith and hybrid Jack Bech.
Keep an eye also on WR Malik Nabers. There’s been some chatter from the Mississippi State side of things that indicated the Bulldogs are worried he could flip to LSU. Sounds like Nabers is torn between the two SEC programs. He has been much more open to the LSU staff lately.
Tristan Leigh: This entire recruiting cycle I have repeatedly said that Maason Smith is the big-fish for LSU and the can’t miss prospect, and that’s true, however, with the way the LSU OL has played this season you wouldn’t be wrong in saying 5-star OT Tristan Leigh is a must-have at this point. The Tigers have one OL committed in Garrett Dellinger, who plans to sign in December, he told me, but they have to stack up at least one or two more OL to end this class. Much like Foreman, Leigh has been very back and forth with his recruitment. Seemed like Clemson, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma all have been considered the favorites at one point.
I have a FutureCast in on LSU for Leigh, but I’m far less confident today about that than I was several weeks ago and that’s due to the fact that we got word this week that the Oklahoma side is confident in landing him and Caleb Williams, and his dad, is playing a big part in that. I feel like this one will go down to the end.
Armoni Goodwin: The former Auburn commitment has plans to visit a few schools before deciding and LSU is one of the programs. He wants to get to Baton Rouge to check out campus and the feel of the town.
Lastly, we expect more cuts/decommitments in the coming week or two but I'm not going to speculate on which players that may or may not be.
