As of the beginning of the season, NFL.com breaks down LBs for Bama vs LSU as follows:
· Bama – Mark Barron (too slow to play safety like in college) / CJ Mosley / Reggie Ragland / Rolando McClain (has this guy really played? Drug issues) / Donta Hightower / Courtney Upshaw (is a DE now)
· LSU - Kwon Alexander / Deion Jones / Lamar Louis / Barkevious Mingo / Kevin Minter / Perry Riley / Kelvin Sheppard
Now I am sure Bama will get guys like Foster drafted but then you have Beckwith and Duke getting drafted from LSU.
So once again I ask. Why is there this mystique by these kids Bama is developing all these LBs? If I were a coach, just be honest. You are ok sitting on the bench because you want to ride the coat tails to a potential championship instead of paving your own way. This may sound biased but I assure you that my kid is not going to a school to sit on a bench when there are 8-10 5 star LBs ahead of him. I will want him to go to the school that has an even better track record for putting LBs in the NFL and he can make an immediate impact. Also he paves his own way to be a legend. Maybe it's a millennial thing…
